Van Buren To Discuss Street Rights Of Way

Resolutions that would set public hearings on abandoning street rights of way in two areas, the annual levying of taxes for the city and the acceptance of a property insurance bid are some of the routine business on the agenda for today’s regular Van Buren city council meeting.
Alderman will vote on setting public hearings July 17 for the purpose of considering the abandonment of rights of way on Mary Allen Street between South 11th and 13th streets and also in an area off Old Alma Road. A resolution accepting a $9,392 bid for property insurance also will be considered. According to the resolution, the Arkansas Municipal League submitted the only bid to cover the lights and poles at the Field of Dreams."
