Blues Festival: the good, the bad and the ugly

EUREKA SPRINGS – Although several local music venues reported good crowds, there were mixed reactions from the community at large concerning the success of this year’s Blues Festival.
The “reunion” event saw the return of such performers as Taj Mahal, Reba Russell, John Mooney, Jimmy Thackery, Sonny Landreth, The Cate Brothers and Patrick Sweany in venues around town during three days of music and mayhem.
The official word
Festival director Sally Thackery told the Citizen it was too early to have complete numbers, but she felt the weekend went
well considering it is in its “rebuilding phase.”
